DIVORCE CARE

Help and healing for the hurt caused by separation and divorce

This divorce recovery ministry provides a structured support program to help you learn to cope with the changes taking place in your life, and help heal the hurt caused by separation and divorce. DivorceCare is a weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. You will find encouragement and counsel as you seek healing and support in your own life.

DivorceCare meets Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM.

    DivorceCare for Kids

    Tender lives restored

    DC4K is a special ministry to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At our weekly DC4K group, kids meet with other kids who understand how they feel and the things they are experiencing because of a divorce within the family. During our 13 weeks together we will combine games, crafts, activities, music and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. Designed for ages 5 -12 years.

    DC4K meets Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM.

    Fall 2016 Session:

    Sept 13th is an orientation evening for parents and children.

    BRIDGES

    Equipping women and families through parenting services

    Bridges is a community outreach to low income families with small children and to women with unplanned pregnancies. With the support of CareNet of DuPage, we offer material support such as diapers, formula, clothes and childcare items. We also provide spiritual ministry to the families in the program. Bridges is a volunteer supported ministry.

    The 2016-2017 schedule is as follows:

  • Bridges (English & Spanish) -September 19, 2016 through May 15, 2017 meeting on the first and third Monday each month, from 6:00 – 7:30pm. Please arrive at 6:00pm for registration.

    Hope Renewed Counseling

    Christ based counseling service

    Barbara Kwiatkowski, LCPC, will be offering pastoral counseling by appointment at OBCC under the practice name of Hope Renewed Counseling. This is a Christ based Christian counseling service. Barbara's training and passion is exploring life issues as centered in Christ and His involvement in your life.

    Barbara obtained her pastoral counseling license from the National Christian Counseling Association. Along with that license she holds certification in Temperament Therapy through NCCA and is a certified group facilitator in domestic violence through focus ministries. Barbara has also been leading the DivorceCare program at OBCC for over six years.

    Through Hope Renewed Counseling temperament traits along with other building blocks of human development (character and personality), you will be appraised to help understand yourself, become stronger in all interpersonal relationships, especially that with Christ, and learn how to deal with and counteract stress and pressures of life.

    Hope Renewed Counseling services is specialized in family dynamics, including by not limited to, pre-marital challenges, marital issues, blended family dynamics and divorce/grieving recovery. Career diriection and individual growth counseling are also provided.
